As a very small team, we need to prioritize giving great customer support to our paying customers. We're not a VC-funded startup seeking to blitzscale at all costs; rather, we're passionate about building a sustainable business of loyal, satisfied customers.
We get it, business can be slow sometimes, especially if you're just starting out. Our commitment to solo freelancers and small teams: If you don't invoice any
clients in a particular calendar month, submit a support
ticket and we'll give you credit for that month.
Though we're based in Canada, as most of our customers are in the United States, all our plans are priced in U.S. Dollars (USD).
N.B. This does not mean that you are limited to using U.S. Dollars when invoicing your own clients from within Hootplan; our system currently supports billing in U.S. Dollars (USD), Canadian Dollars (CAD), Australian Dollars (AUD), New Zealand Dollars (NZD), Singapore Dollars (SGD), Indian Rupees (INR), British Pounds (GBP), and Euros (EUR).
Storage is mainly needed for file attachments used in communications with your clients, and for files uploaded to share internally with your team members. The rest of the Hootplan functionalities (such as project estimates, time tracking, invoices, task management, etc.) do not take up much storage space at all! We limit the total storage in our two low-cost plans to prevent unintended use (we're not aiming to become your replacement for Dropbox/OneDrive/Box/etc.), as well as to ensure we maintain a high level of service for our larger company plans.
